The dog is fine, he is bouncing around, playful, friendly, and only 5 months old and yet after coming inside he began to throw up. I know it sounds crazy but there is this awful flu virus running rampant thru our city and I was just curious. No he couldn’t have eaten anything outside either, he is chained in an controlled area.

My golden retriever has been very ill recently and has not eaten for over a week. He is currently on 24 watch at the vets office, getting IV fluids. I’ve been told it is likely a flu infection that has supressed his appetite. How long is expected? I’m beginning to be very worried.

I am deciding on whether or not to get my dog vaccinated for the dog flu virus. He does get groomed regularly but that’s it as far as his contact with other dogs. I’m a bit apprehensive because it’s so new, I worry about problems that the vaccine could cause down the road. Has anyone gotten their dogs vaccinated for the flu virus? Do you recommended or not recommended it?

If I’m volunteering at an animal shelter and I have a dog at home, should I get him vaccinated for the dog flu? Is there any chance that I can bring it home to him?
I know that I physically can not get the dog flu, I’m just wondering if I can carry the dog flu home to my dog. Thanks :)
he is up to date on his yearly vaccinations, we just didn’t get him a flu shot, I just wanted to know if I could bring it home to him by it being on my clothes or something.
