Question by I’m a mommy: Hey everyone! I need some help. I’m not to sure what it is?
I’m not to sure what it is, maybe the migrane, the flu, the fact the has distroyed everything and broken just about everything or the stress of being a single parent while me hubby is deployed. NOT TO SURE!!!
About 30 minutes ago, she went into the kitchen and threw the dog watter and food everywhere, this was after a day of screaming at her lungs for not getting her way and just being a pain in my ass. Anyway. After she did this. I went off in a rage and grabbed her by her arm and smacked her hard on her butt. But as I was going to smack her again I stopped and she was screaming at the top of her lungs I put her in her crib and she laid there crying.
I am sitting on my couch crying my heart out and trying to figure out why did I snap. I swore I was never going to a raise a hand to my child, I have popped her on the hand before but that was about it.
She is sitting in her room right now laughing and playing and I’m still on the couch I want to hug her and tell her I’m sorry
Best answer:
Answer by mommy_of_3 Then go and hug her. It sounds like you are under alot of stress, don’t worry it will be OK

Question by Brian&Megan: My puppy keeps throwing up!?
I just recently got a 5 month old yellow lab mix and I moved to Florida with him and my other dog. For the first few days he was normal and playful. But the night before last I had taken them on a 2 mile walk. When we arrived back home they were fine just very tierd. The next day the puppy threw up a yellow mucus. I called the vet to get him an appointment, because I was worried he had parvo. They were of no help and can’t see him till next week. So I’ve been keeping him hydrated, and I feed him canned food every few hours. He has the desire to eat and drink but he can’t seem to hold down the food. Today he seems to be doing better, but is still having trouble holding down food. He slept all day yesterday, but today he has more energy and wants to play with our older dog. My question is, how can I help him get better? I have antibiotics for dogs, that I’ve been giving him, and I’ve given him plenty of fluids. It doesn’t seem like parvo, but I’m still worried! Could it be a flu?
I also wanted to add that I’ve been giving him pedilyte and boiled rice and hamburger meat. He doesn’t have diarria or blood in his stool, which is a sign of parvo. So you can see why I’m so confused as to what’s wrong with him! His throw up is no longer a yellow mucus, just the food he’s been eating. This is so frustrating! Please help!
Thanks for all the help! I’m going to stop the antibiotics. I also wanted to add I was very sick with the flu and maybe being stuck in the car with me for all those hours he got something from me.
Well thanks again to everyone for all your help! The puppy is doing fine, and is acting like he was never sick. He’s a 100% again!

Question by Kaetlyn: Kennel Cough?
So, about two weeks ago, Brogan was at the vets getting neutered. Exactly a week later, he is coughing and just not enjoying himself. The next day, after I called my vet and got some meds for him, my lab is coughing up a storm, and now has meds as well.
I just feel so terrible for them. Yes, they are up to date on ALL vaccinations-including bordatella. Unfortunately, the bordatella vaccine is like getting a flu shot-it doesn’t COMPLETELY prevent the dog from getting the tracheobronchitis virus. Blahh.
Brogan’s doing better, but Jake is still hacking up a storm =[ He started his meds later, so I’m hoping in a day or two he’ll be doing alright.
Has anyone else had a dog that suffered a bout of kennel cough? It’s just no fun, I feel so miserable for my boys. The medicine makers need to come up with something that actually WORKS (impossible though, considering all the different ’strands’ of it).
Hope you guys are all doing well.
I know they’ll be fine, I just feel so bad for them. I suspected they would both get it soon enough-in fact I was surprised that Jake hasn’t ever gotten it in the almost-7-social-years of his life.
It just tears me to bits to hear him cough the way he is! Poor thing. Thanks for the shower advice as well-Brogan especially loves laying in the bathroom while I take a shower (though I don’t usually allow it), so I’ll make sure to let them enjoy the next few nights in there with me, haha.
No it wasn’t at a low-cost clinic or shelter clinic-it was at a regular vet’s office-which is a fairly new, high-tech facility.
However, it’s not guaranteed that’s where he got it from. I take both of them nearly everywhere with me, not to mention I work at a dog daycare. I don’t take them with me very often (maybe once a week), but just a day’s exposure or even carrying the virus on myself could have given it to them.

Answer by Go Spurs Go Your dogs will be fine. Kennel cough is no big deal.
I train service dogs and about once a year one of the dogs comes in contact with kennel cough and then we have 25 coughing dogs. Luckily Robitussin works well for kennel cough.
Good luck!

Question by Masshole: Is Obama responsible for every problem in this country? Conservatives sure seem to think so?
I think I now understand the Republican message: this entire recession was caused by Obama. All of our economic woes are due to Obama.
As Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity have repeatedly said, Obama hates the USA. Obama and all liberals hate the USA. Obama and all liberals hate the military and want the enemy to win.
Every single problem in this country is the fault of Obama, right conservatives? Not a single American soldier died during the Bush administration, they all died under Obama’s watch. Obama is the cause of the Iraq War. He was also responsible for Vietnam, WW2, WW1, and even worked as a British spy for Lord Cornwallis during the Revolutionary War.
Barack Obama is the cause of the dollar losing its value. Michelle Obama is the cause of the national debt. Sasha Obama is the cause of the trade deficit, and Malia Obama is responsible for the decline in Real GDP. And when the nation’s health care system collapses, it will be the fault of Bo the family dog.
My 7 year-old niece has the swine flu – conservatives tell me she was deliberately infected by Obama. They just had massive blackouts last week in Brazil, why the whole thing is clearly an Obama conspiracy.
Oh, and Obama bowed to the Japanese emperor yesterday. This is definitive proof that Obama is responsible for the American deaths at Pearl Harbor.
We had 8 years of peace and prosperity under George W. Bush, but at the stroke of noon last January 20th, sunny skies suddenly gave way to dark grey. The rainbows disappeared from the horizon and thunder began rumbling all across the fruited plain. All the world’s stock markets suddenly crashed, and 27 million Americans lost their jobs at the exact moment Obama uttered the words “So Help Me God”.
It’s all Obama’s fault. Everything is Obama’s fault. He is ruining the unbridled peace and prosperity which we enjoyed under eight years of George W. Bush. But fear not my fellow Americans, God in heaven is preparing to send down His most holy of angels, His most divine patron saint of economic recovery: Sarah Palin.

Question by TWIN91: needing answers about puppy…parvo or not parvo??
I have a 3 month old female registered pitbull that has been vacinnated….i had to have surgery and she got sick while i was gone for 4 days—-she was sick and her bowels were bloody and her vomit smelled like nothing id ever smelled—except for once before when another dog of mine had and i thought he had the flu back a couple years ago….i nursed him back to health and he is fine. so being worried that she couldnt keep anything down i took her to the vet that has had her now a little over 24 hours–they did a parvo test which was negative–have her on IV fluids–”they”also told me that parvo is like AIDS and can show present a week after it doesnt show another time you test for it…Im not a millionaire—but i do love my dog and want the best for her—do i take her to someone else or let her continue to be treated with 2 IV’s with the starting fee of 240 for the 1st night and 75 each day after–im scared and confused but DO want the best for her. no attitudes plz
Best answer:
Answer by Bozema Whether it is parvo or not, based on the symptoms, the treatment is the same – supportive care with IV and hospitalization. She is a very sick dog and whatever she has, she needs this type of care to have a chance of survival.

Question by Nita and Michael: Did you know about these home remedies?……..?
Did You Know That? Drinking two glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain almost immediately — without the unpleasant side effects caused by traditional “pain relievers.”
Did you know that Colgate toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns.
Before you head to the drugstore for a high-priced inhaler filled with mysterious chemicals, try chewing on a couple of curiously strong Altoids peppermints. They’ll clear up your stuffed nose.
Achy muscles from a bout of the flu? Mix 1 Tablespoon of horseradish in 1 cup of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil, for instant relief for aching muscles.
Sore throat? Just mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1/4 cup of honey and take 1 tablespoon six times a day. The vinegar kills the bacteria.
Cure urinary tract infections with Alka-Seltzer . Just dissolve two tablets in a glass of water and drink it at the onset of the symptoms. Alka-Seltzer begins eliminating urinary tract infections almost instantly — even though the product was never advertised for this use. ( Note : Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold Medicine is not the same..and contains aspirin, which can cause stomach bleeding if you have ulcers.)
Honey remedy for skin blemishes … Cover the blemish with a! dab of honey and place a Band-Aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile, and speeds healing. Works overnight.
Listerine < < /I > > therapy for toenail fungus … Get rid of unsightly toenail fungus by soaking your toes in Listerine mouthwash. The powerful antiseptic leaves your toenails looking healthy again.
Easy eyeglass protection … To prevent the screws in eyeglasses from loosening, apply a small drop of Maybelline Crystal Clear nail polish to the threads of the screws before tightening them.
Coca-Cola cure for rust … Forget those expensive rust removers. Just saturate an abrasive sponge with Coca Cola and scrub the rust stain. The phosphoric acid in the coke is what gets the job done. FYI, coca-cola is also used to shine shoes and clean car engines. I know people who do this and it works. (Scary that people still drink it.)
Cleaning liquid that doubles as bug killer … If menacing bees, wasps, hornets, or yellow jackets get in your home and you can’t find the insecticide, try a spray of Formula 409 . Insects drop to the ground instantly.
Smart splinter remover …just pour a drop of Elmer’s Glue-All over the splinter, let dry, and peel the dried glue off the skin. The splinter sticks to the dried glue.
Hunt’s tomato paste boil cure ….cover the boil with Hunt’s tomato paste as a compress. The acids from the tomatoes soothe the pain and bring the boil to a head.
Balm for broken blisters …To disinfect a broken blister, dab on a few drops of Listerine … a powerful antiseptic.
Heinz vinegar to heal bruises … Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and apply it to the bruise for 1 hour. The vinegar reduces the blueness and speeds up the healing process.
Kills fleas instantly . Dawn dish washing liquid does the trick. Add a few drops to your dog’s bath and shampoo the animal thoroughly. Rinse well to avoid skin irritations. Goodbye fleas.
Rainy day cure for dog odor … Next time your dog comes in from the rain, simply wipe down the animal with Bounce or any dryer sheet, instantly making your dog smell springtime fresh.
Eliminate ear mites … All it takes is a few drops of Wesson corn oil in your cat’s ear. Massage it in, then clean with a cotton ball. Repeat daily for 3 days. The oil soothes the cat’s skin, smothers the mites, and accelerates healing.
Quaker Oats for fast pain relief ….It’s not for breakfast anymore! Mix 2 cups of Quaker Oats and 1 cup of water in a bowl and warm in the microwave for 1 minute, cool slightly, and apply the mixture to your hands for soothing relief from arthritis pain.
Best answer:
Answer by Joan R I certainly believe in the toothpaste for burns (any cold cream will do though) and the good effects of plain malt vinegar in many ways – I’ll get back to you on the rest!!!
