Can dogs get colds or flu from humans?
Posted by: Alan in dog flu treatment, tags: colds, dogs, from, humans
I have a 1 year old English Bulldog who is sick and showing all the signs we humans would if we had the flu.
If they can get the flu what can or should be done.
Obviously the Vet is closed or I would just take her there.

No dogs cannot catch the flu from humans. Best to get your dog to the vets as soon as it opens

There are no cases of dog flu being passed onto humans, vice versa.

No, dogs have different immune systems than humans, so they cannot catch cold/flu from a person.
Just like e coli, which can kill a human, an animal, can digest and have no issues.
If the symptoms persist, I would see if there is an emergency hospital/vet in your area. Or next time you are at your vet, be sure to ask them who in the area can assist when they are not open.
Our vet, has it on their answering machine message of the emergency hospital number.
Good luck, and I hope your dog feels better soon.
