Is what humans are getting the same as swine or did it mutate?
But if it mutated so people can spread it to one another, couldn’t it mutate again to attack other animals?

Human and pig biology is remarkably similar. Cats and dogs don’t get our diseases. Not even the flu.

Dogs and cats don’t get swine flu that I’ve ever heard of. There is a canine flu and a feline flu. We don’t get them.
The swine flu mutated so that people can get it easily and pass it from human to human. In the past, every now and then somebody would catch swine flu from working with sick pigs. But it would not be contagious to other humans. Same with avian flu, for that matter; poultry workers sometimes get it, but they can’t pass it to another human.
I don’t know, but I’m guessing that swine can still catch the mutated version of swine flu too.
