I am NOT giving my dog tylenol, i am simply just asking if its okay. I’VE heard from many people that they do give there dogs tylenol when they have the flu. Maybe i misunderstood, if they said tylenol or baby asprin. SO half baby ASPRIN is okay for dogs?

NO Tylenol – half baby aspirin, but no Tylenol. I am scared to take it as a human, it wrecks your liver.

It will kill your dog yes baby aspirin is OK but ask a vet how much to give it by weight and age

I wouldn’t give my dog tylenol or baby asprin. That just seems wrong. I don’t think it’s good for them, sick or not.

Tylenol is toxic to dogs. It’s not safe at all at any dosage. Aspirin can be given with a vet’s recommendation.

My vet says to give my dog 81mg low-dose asprins , mostly taken by adults for their heart.

She is a 70lb dog….not sure how safe for very small dogs

  9. Cole32 says:

That depends on the WEIGHT of your dog. Asprin is ok, but contact your vet to get the correct dosage! Do not give your dog anything with getting a professional opinion.

I posted a answer to your past question. I don’t think it would be a great idea to give your dog baby asprin or anything. If you believe your dog need medical attention, then thats what I would be going to get.

Other risks. Human medications may be toxic to dogs, for example paracetamol/acetaminophen (Tylenol).

tylenol and ibuprofin will kill your dog. baby asprin is okay, also you can give benadryl, 1 mg per pound and they usually come in a 25 mg caplet but if your dog is acting like it has the flu, it is probably more serious and you should call a vet.

i have given my dogs, baby Tylenol, children’s Imodium, and garlic powder. and guess what their still alive and kickin! yes, i asked the vet first, I’m no idiot.and for all the thumb downers, alot of us cannot afford the vet bill right now. even though we want what’s best for our 4 legged family members, sometimes we have to go the alternative route.

  15. Jen says:

Tylenol is not generally recommended for dogs as there are much safer and more effective alternatives. Dogs also don’t get “the flu”. ASA can be given to dog sbut half a baby one is a low dose unless the dog in a mini breed. Best to seek the advise of a vet, especially if someone is giving these drugs for an illness rather t hen an injury

i don’t know about that i would be to scared to do that but i know if they are throwing up and they need to stay hydrated etc to give them like pedilite drinks it helps sooth there stomachs and too much water just makes them sicker.

NO! NO! NO! Tylenol will kill a dog or cat.
Asprin is ok though. We had to give my husbands older dog asprin all the time for his arthritis and stuff.
I can’t remember the exact website, but if you google it, there is a site that has all sorts of household things that you can’t give your animals.

NEVER NEVER NEVER GIVE ACETAMINOPHEN OR IBUPROPHEN TO A DOG OR CAT. YOU COULD KILL THEM. (I’m not shouting, but this is so important, people will tell you almost anything. Ask your vet.

Actually, you can give your dog any thing that you would an infant, and it won’t hurt them the way that adult medications can. If your dog has a cold or is running a fever, use infant liquid cold mediaction through an applicator. take the dogs head and lift mouth up so that the liquid doesn’t run out, place applicator in side of dogs mouth and squirt. My dad used to do that with all his many dogs when they were sick, and all of them lived to be quite old.

Never give a dog any human medication unless you have been instructed to do so by your vet!
