we took a dog in that was droprd and he was skin&bones I have been feeding him for a week since we found him in our shed. He has put on a little weight but how do I know if he has heartworms.He eats good now but he has a little cough after he gets use to people I want to take him to our vet and have him checked out but when we first found him he was skin&bones. we dont know how long he had been out in the woods before he came up to our house. I am an animal person and I hate to see animals misstreated and we can tell he has been cause for a few days he would shy away when we tried to pet him.Thank you

Question by Roland: Just wondering if Cephalexin would be good to treat possible Tick fever in dog?
I will be taking him in soon to the vet for blood work, but it’s just that I have almost over 100 pills left from pills that I had previously given my other dog (who passed) and was wondering if Cephalexin would be a good Antibiotic to give him just in case he might have the disease? Thanks

Answer by Cookie Cephalexin (Keflex)is a fairly broad spectrum antibiotic, however when using any antibiotic it’s imperative that you know what infection you are treating. If you are treating an infection that is not susceptible to Cephalexin, and some aren’t, you might make it worse not better. Never use an antibiotic until you are certain what the problem is.

heres the story idea: a pumkin eats anorange and falls ill, he goes to the doctor which happens to be a dog, the doctor tell the pumkin he has swine flu, everyone in the town goes crazy and chicken little thinks the sky is falling or something so anyhow the pumkin feels all sick and then he throws up a pig. the pig says he is from the plante gaglotofg and he is here to take over the world! so the pupmkins tell s his moomy and the mommy kills the pig. everyone inthe town eats ham and noone is crazy. chicken little still thnks the sky is going to fall.
