Question by Tim: what can be done with a dog having valley fever?

Best answer:

Answer by Laikabeta
Valley fever is caused by Coccidioides immitus, a fungus commonly found in soil. It is endemic in dry arid regions (Southwestern USA) and dusty conditions during summer and fall.

I am not a veterinarian so I have cited a reference for the treatment of valley fever in dogs. The anti-fungal treatments cited in the article can be used to treat valley fever.

I hope this helps.

Question by alisan a: Why is my dog having sneezing fits?
My dog occassionally has sneezing fits. It’ll go on for about 10-15 minutes almost constantly and it’s one of the whole body sneezes. It doesn’t seem to be anything serious, but I was just wondering if anybody else has a dog that does this. Is it just allergies? Or maybe just getting into dust? I want to make sure that she’s not in any real pain.
Just to give some more details…. there isn’t any discharge or anything like that and she doesn’t seem to be in any pain. I’ve seen these fits only happen every 4 months or around then. Thanks for the advice, I’ll give my vet a call just to be safe :)

I would have said allergies but 10-15 minutes seems a little weird. I would talk to your vet.

The Vet would have to check him out to know for sure. Right now, I have two dogs that are having allergy problems with the changy weather and I give them Benadryl when they get like that. But check with your Vet.

LMAO!!

You cannot leave a 4 and 2 y/o alone for even 5 minutes without the room becoming a mess.

Kool-aid DOES NOT come out of carpet.

Cereal can be an “anytime” meal, so can peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

2 y/o little girls can cause deafness with their squeals.

Grandma smells funny (at least my son thinks so).

My children will never play with the legos as much as their father does.

Pop-Up books don’t last very long.

Play-doh is non-toxic….thank GOD.

I now know the number to the poison control center by heart.

Not sure whether or not that would help… can’t imagine it would hurt her any. Have you taken her to the vet? Give them a call and see what they think.

Question by sravanth: my dog had a enlarged liver and is having regular fever my vet said use liv 52 it will gradually cures but?
today i gave paracetmol 200mg as it is having more fever ,is it a problem for it some one please help me regarding this?

Best answer:

Answer by CindyRVT
You should not give your dog ANY anti-inflammatory medication without consulting your vet as your dog has a liver condition. Paracetamol can cause liver necrosis in dogs to begin with, giving it to a dog who already has liver damage is a very bad idea.

I would consider getting a second opinion about your dog’s condition as far as just giving liv 52. It is recommended as a supportive treatment but further treatment may be necessary especially considering that your dog continues to have a fever.

Question by nicolewhite5: How can I tell if my dog is having an allergic reaction to her kennel cough shot?
My dog received the kennel cough shot on Friday of last week. Beginning on Saturday, she began periodically making a wheezing noise. The noise is not constant, but what is the best thing to do? See a vet or wait it out?

Best answer:

Answer by Matt O
Unfortunatley the vaccine commonly causes kennel cough symptoms. So basically your dog has a mild case of kennel cough. If it worsens give youre vet a call. It should go away on its own though.
