Question by Starry Night: Are these the symptoms for a human to a dog?
I am coughing, I have a stuffy nose and I have a fever. I held a dog on Monday and I got those symptoms. I live in Ohio and I have seasonal allergies. I usually get these when it’s turning from Summer to Fall, Spring to Summer, and Winter to Spring. Plz tell me. If I do, then what are some remedies.

its called allergic rhinitis , avoidance if you know what the trigger is the best . treatment is basically symptomatic, like anti histaimes = loratadin , decongestant = pseudoephedrin,

No, you can’t get sick from your dog. :]

Just like dogs can’t catch colds from us. They have different strings of viruses and diseases than humans.

Last Thursday my grandma made some sort of meatloaf that was so bad that I didn’t eat it. But my family: my mom, dad and grandma ate it! My grandma didn’t finish it all so she threw it out for my dogs to eat (which I told her specifically not to!) Well, on Friday when I came back from school everyone was sick! And so was josie, my corgi/chihuahua mix, and Bessy, my cavalier king charles spaniel puppy! It couldn’t have been the stomach flu cause I didn’t get it and everyone’s all better now! Was it from the meatloaf?

It’s possible. A dog’s digestive system is vastly different from that of a human being’s, but bad meat will tend to have the same effect on humans and animals.

Question by dadra: Is it possible for a human to get sick from a dog infected with “kennel cough”?
Coincidentally, both I and my 22 month old son have fallen ill since Leah has been sick (which is 4 weeks now). We are both suffering from a dry cough, chest congestion and my son is now weezing. I don’t think we’ve contracted kennel cough but perhaps we came in contact with the virus that subsequently triggered a reaction within us??

No…this was merely a coincidence.
Kennel cough is a syndrome caused by a canine virus or bacteria that is non-infectious in humans.

Eyes are blood shot red. Runny nose, drippy eyes, loss of appetite, no energy.
My American Bulldog is 5 years old and has had all his shots up to date. We recently moved him to a new house with no other dogs outside. hes in a huge backyard with a covered dog house. He started to vomit since 5am. Right now he has blood shot eyes, Runny Nose, white foamy vomit and a human like hacking cough/weezing.

He could have allergies (believe it or not)
He could have gotten into something (my dog tried to get a bee and it stung the inside of his nose)

He could have Kennel Cough (bordatella)
