For cheap Million Dollar Quartet tickets go to wos.im Joe Pike talks to the cast of Million Dollar Quartet, the award-winning new musical that tells the electrifying story of the night in 1956 when Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis came together to make music and ended up making history. It is inspired by the actual event that took place on 4 December 1956 at Sun Records in Memphis and features over 20 of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll, gospel, R&B and country hits ever written including: Blue Suede Shoes, I Walk The Line, Fever, Great Balls of Fire, Hound Dog, Folsom Prison Blues and Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On. The legendary meeting was masterminded by Sun Records’ founder Sam Phillips, who discovered all four of the musicians, and brought Elvis Presley (and his then girlfriend) back to the recording studio that launched him to stardom. Together with Sun Records’ fast-rising new superstar Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins, who was still chasing his next big hit after writing and recording Blue Suede Shoes, the fourth member of this impromptu “quartet” was Phillips’ latest signing, Jerry Lee Lewis. Million Dollar Quartet is a story of fame, friendship, discovery, divided loyalties, professional jealousy and incredible music as four of the music industry’s most extraordinary talents, all in their creative prime, made music together for the first and only time in their careers.

Tavis Smiley: “In no particular order, since we mentioned “Dreamer” first, tell me about “Dreamer.” Prince: “Oh, well, when I saw the “State of the Black Union,” Dick Gregory really moved me and a lot of my friends. I show it to everybody who comes over the house, especially White folks, because they need to hear that, so that they know more about all of us. Because what he said affects all of us. He said something that really hit home about this phenomena of chem trails and when I was a kid, I used to see these trails in the sky all the time and I’d say, “Oh, that’s cool — a jet just went over.” And then you started to see a whole bunch of them and the next you know, everybody in your neighborhood was fighting and arguing and you didn’t know why, okay? And you really didn’t know why. I mean, everybody was fighting. So he started riffing about the chem trails and he started to say things that hit home so hard, and I would recommend that everybody try to get what he said online or wherever, and try to get a copy of it and just listen to it, because I was so moved that I had to write the song. The other thing is the first line of the song says I was born on the same plantation in the United States of the red, white and blue, and we live in a place now that feels just about like a plantation. We’re all indentured servants. When I found out there were eight presidents before George Washington, I wanted to smack somebody. I wanted to know why I was taught otherwise. Just tell

Question by metalgearsolid: Im sick and i got an interview to an Ivy League Tommorrow.?
This has got to be the worse thing thats happened to be in forever. I was preparing my presentation and my work to take tommorrow to my interview with some Ivy League Masters, and then all of a sudden my stomach started acting up and i realize i have the worst case of diaherra, and apearently i got the stomach flu cus i vomit all that I eat. My face is paler then a dog. I just came from the doctor and i nearly fainted driving there. My doc said i have a severe case of the stomach flu, but i’ll be ok in about a week and a half. Im so sick i cant think straight and now i think im catching a cold cause i wont stop coughing. Should i still show up to my interview tommorrow? This is a once in a lifetime chance because they happend to be in my town tommorrow for a College Night representing there University. They leave Thursday. Should i risk going coughing, fainting, vomiting on them and craping my pants in front of them? What should i do? I was thinking about getting my cusin to go and pretend to be me.

Explian to them what has happened (in less detail though). DON’T have your cousin impersonate you. Things like this do happen and they will understand.
