Question by Court H: Our dog Joey keeps sneezing? What is wrong?
Joey is a Shiba Inu. This week so far lhe has been sneezing. nothing look wrong but I don’t know so anything will help.

Maybe your Dog has had a reaction to the pollen of trees grass or flowers. I know that my little jack russels always sneeze around this time of the year. Im sure that there is nothing seriously wrong with your dog, it might have doggy-hayfeaver

He is 7 years old. And has always been in good health. So this is really wierd. No appetite change or attitude, just lots of sneezing – one after another – usually 6 in a row.

i have a mini dach and she sometimes sneezes. but i know it because of the weather change. maybe your dog is alergic to something outside in the air. maybe take him to a vet to get a better naswer than from a 13 year-old. thats the best i can hel you. good luck

my dog was neutered 2 weeks ago tomorrow (7/7). He ended up having to go back 5 days later (7/12) for an ablation. He is a st. bernard. The following day I noticed 2 seperate spots on the incision werent fully closed and was discharging the clear stuff that comes out with blood, along with blood. I then took him to the Evet where they surgical stapled him back up and gave him meloxicam, cephalexin, and tramadol. About 4 days ago he did this weird thing which I now think is a reverse sneeze, and hes also sneezing very frequently. He’s really snotty and today it his snot was brown in color. What is the reason for all this? could he be allergic to the drugs? I did call the Evet and she said its very possible it could be kennel cough and that I should just keep monitoring him. Im not doubtful of her, I would just like to know more! Thanks

My dog keeps sneezing or barfing in her mouth I don’t know which… Shes 8 months old and we just got her yesterday. She is half bijou half chihuahua, and she is a ”runt”. She keeps biting me (but it doesn’t hurt) and keeps crying. When I hold her she trys to go in the corner of my arms and does that sneezing/barfing thing when I hold her. Whats wrong with her? And how can I help her stop?
I ment 8 weeks, not 8 months.

Yes dogs can catch colds and have allergies too. Could be something has irritated its nose, like pepper would do. He could also have a winter cold. If it gets worse or keeps up, take him to the vet. Not sure if dogs can catch the flu but I know cats can and its been deadly for them. So if its not better in a day or two, call your vet.

My 3 yr old American Staffordshire Terrier is having sneezing fits. It isnt ALL the time but when it starts it lasts for about 25 sneezes. We have recently changed her food at around the time the sneezing occured (about 4 days ago). But we changed her food because she has rashes in her armpits that are pretty red we put some polysporin on them and they have gotten a bit better. So we got food that has no wheat because the pet store lady said that she could be allergic she is now on food with herring in it. I have heard we should just give her slightly cooked meat and rice? Also that we can give her echinacea, vitamin E, and fish oil in her food. Do we give human brands or is there dog brands? for the sneezing they said we could give her some benilynn?

Dogs sneeze for the same reasons that humans sneeze. Something is irritating his sinuses. He could have allergies or a virus. There is no way to know without taking him to a vet.

He’s 15 and very healthy, plays like a puppy. I noticed yesterday when he woke, he sneezed 4 or 5 times in a row. He did it again this morning.
