My pom is 3 years old and suffers from alopecia x and epliepsy. He currently is suffering from a dry hacking cough and I’m really worried about him. He’s had the cough for about a day now. I plan to take him to the vet as soon as they open on monday but are there any home remidies anyone knows of? I’d really appreciate the help if anyone can think of anything.

Answer by Michael S Nothing to worry about. He has Kennel Cough, it’s like the dog equivilant to a common cold. Time will heal it and don’t exercise him too much while he’s recovering.
Take him to the vet to be sure it’s kennel cough and nothing else they’ll give you some antibiotics.

I have just recently lost my job so I need to find a vet that will work with me or who is cheap enough that I will be able to pay them with what I have left in my meager savings.. I have a dog who has already tested positive for valley fever and is on medication for it,and now one of my other dogs is displaying the same signs,and I think she has valley fever as well.Since valley fever is so dangerous I know how important it is that i get her tested immediatley and started on medicine,but i have also just lost my job and my savings is meger at best.I really can’t afford a 200.00 vet bill at this time,as the test for valley fever alone is 100.00.Is there an agency that will help one time or a vet that will discount his services?? any info anybody has would sure be a life saver..

I know theres a lot of heartless people that don’t understand when you run into hard times and you have a pet that gets sick and all your asking is for advice. So don’t be so quick to judge untill you know the whole story. But I do want to thank all the people that were considerate of my situation.

I found a 10 week old pit/lab mix puppy someone dumped out on the freeway and I took her to the vet and she has kennel cough which she is on antibiotics for. My older dog has been vacinated against this but do I still need to keep them apart? And for how long?

Answer by CRAZYDEADMOTH yup, keep em in diffrent rooms until the antibiotics are finished and your dog has recovered, it may be more than just kennel cough concidering you found her on the freeway

I recently posted a question and only got one answer, and im getting worried, im stay so tired all the time, i sleep ALL the time, but its not even sleep, i lay there restless, i dont have the energy to move, but when i get up i don’t have the energy to stay up. I can’t do the simplest of chores anymore, I can barely do anything without feeling like im dying. It almost feels like when you have the flu and your body just aches. Im always restless, I lay in bed for hours without sleeping, and I’ll get up, and feel dog tired. Me and my boyfriend have to move into our new place by tomorrow, and im trying to help but im so tired all the time. Its scaring me and its so fustrating, i know this can’t be normal. Im wondering about being anemic? I know it is a serious thing. What are the symptoms? Should i go see a doctor in the morning? I’ve been avoiding iron because it makes me throw up so much. But someone told me that might actually be really bad, because im not getting any iron. Can some please tell me whats going on? Should i go see a doctor asap? It’s getting so bad i barely want to even eat.
I am taking the flintstone vitamins everyday. And trying to eat as healthly as possible. Just staying weak 24/7. It’s miserable.

Answer by Maltese Mom 100 degrees is within the normal range for dogs so your dog is probably recovering. As long as he is drinking he will probably be okay. He will eat when he feels well enough to or if you are really concerned, you can check with your vet tomorrow.

Question by Sara Bush: My dog is reverse sneezing and regular sneezing frequently does he need to go to the vet right away?
He is a neutered male Papillon, he is almost 2 years old. I have never noticed him doing this before. But he is frequently reverse sneezing and regular sneezing for about 4 days or more now. I am not sure what to do, if he needs to go to the vet right away or if I should wait it out. Someone please help me.
