Question by life_long_song: Is there an end to this tooth pain?
Ok, a bit of back story is needed here…
I have bad dental hygene. I was never taught how to brush my teeth as a kid and my parents never made me do it, so I did not devolope a habit for brushing until I turned 19ish. I am now 21 and brush twice a day, but the damage is done. I have several broken teeth and they are very decayed. Now onto the issue…
I have a broken tooth that is extremely painful. I have been taking IB profen and almost a tube of oragel a week on it and even now the pain is incredible. I am almost thinking of going to the ER but I know they can do nothing for it.
Last week I got the swine flu and had a sore throat with it, and my mom gave me chloresptic drops to suck on for my throat, and that pure sugar right on the tooth sent it into over drive. I know I can try clove oil, but I live in the boon dogs and the closest thing to me in a 50 mile radius is walmart which dosent cary it.
Any other suggestions?
I am sitting here with ice on it a dead tired from the lack of sleep on this.
I cannot go to a dentist as I have no insurance and my job is low paying, I am barely making rent, let alone get a tooth extracted.
Should I go ahead and just have someone help me pull it out?

Answer by DrKK Woman, what you have is a massive bacterial infection that has gone from your tooth into an abscess in your jaw.
I want you to understand this clearly: People can, and do, *DIE* from this when the infection spreads to their heart and brain. You need to have the tooth extracted, or a root canal done, IMMEDIATELY, and be put on antibiotic therapy, immediately. Call some dentists, explain your situation financially, and find out what can be done—you might be pleasantly surprised when you find a dentist who can get something done for you “pro bono” (i.e., because he’s charitible) or utilize some other resource.
Do not screw around! I am not exagerating: An abscessed tooth (and this is definitely what you have) can progress VERY EASILY to a life threatening situation…especially nowadays.
At a VERY minimum, the dentist can get you a prescription for a $ 4 bottle of penicillin from the pharmacy while you figure out what you’re going to do.

www.petdoghealthcare.com — Canine Cardiac Disease – How Common Heart Murmurs In Dogs Could Be The Result Of CCD If your dog gets diagnosed with a common heart murmur problem, it may be a sign of canine cardiac disease. According to the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, a heart murmur results from blood flow running through the heart that is abnormal. Some heart murmurs are perfectly normal while others, similar to those heard in aging dogs, may be a sign that some type of heart disease is prevalent. The most common cardiac diseases in dogs include: 1. Congenital birth defects that show up when a puppy is young. 2. Degenerative valve disease (heart valve leaks) that mostly affect older or middle-aged dogs. 3. Loss of heart muscle tissue that is typically seen in young dogs or middle-aged larger dog breeds. Detecting The Disease Heart disease may not show up or be detected until it has reached a point where your dog experiences heart failure, collapse, or even sudden death. Your veterinarian can certainly check your dog out for heart murmurs by using a stethoscope. However, as the dog owner, your responsibility is to be on alert for certain signs such as difficulty in breathing, coughing, intolerance to exercise, or a swollen abdomen (caused by fluid retention). Question by tiny_lil_hottie: Will anything ease the pain of food poisoning?
i am almost sure i have food poisoning, my trips to the bathroom are not that far apart. now i usually have an iron stomach, i am the one who can eat the furry cinnamon roll that has been sitting out for a week without so much as heartburn, but tonight 3 hours after going out to eat, i am sick as a dog but no fever, so i am pretty sure it isn’t the flu.
short of going to the hospital is there anything that can lessen the pain and length of food poisoning.
i know i wont die from this as long as i stay hydrated and that as soon as its out of my system i will be ok, but its been an hour and its getting old, annoying and more painful.
what really gets me the pain is mainly on my right side by my hip, its almost as bad as childbirth was.

Pet owners occasionally self medicate their pet with human pain killers. Those medications, called anti-inflammatories, are not designed for use in dogs and cats and a minimal human dose can poison a pet. Cats especially seem to be very sensitive to pain killers. This video outlines the specific toxicity of Ibuprofen, Aspirin and Paracetamol in dogs and cats.
