Question by commanderx777: Do you ever wonder about these people?
I’ve come across a lot of questions on here such as:
I just fed my 2 year old an energy drink and 6 hot dogs,is this ok?
My child wants to swing on the ceiling fan, would this be ok?
My child just ate a box of twinkies and 2 cans of soda, they are throwing up,do you think they have swine flu? omg omg!
I mean seriously,I know this is a place for answers but do you ever wonder about the parenting skills of people who ask these kinds of questions?
Just curious and felt like asking something tonight and this came to mind after actually reading such a question on here.
Best answer:
Answer by Modus operandi Parenting skills, no. Time management, yes.
They’re just bored.

Question by the who: Do people realize how fragile their lives really are?
I mean everyone goes out there like superman; especially our army, armed forces, etc, and they don’t seem to realize that they can have a heart attack/stroke/cancer, at any time,or get a huge bout of a bad illness, and not be able to think clearly, all sorts of things. Cops also seem to think they’re invincible. Nothing is forever. Even if nothing bad happens to you, you still get old, you age, and you die.
So therefore, why is humanity so busy being dramatic, waging wars, being greedy, and living like they’re going to be around forever, if they can LITERALLY go at any moment, and chances are with the lifestyles many people lead,…they’ll go sooner than later.
Are people REALLY that foolish?
All it takes is one small thing, car breaks down, bad case of the flu, lose your job, and that destroys your “momentum.”
People need to stop living like they’re superman, and what the hell is our country doing being police dog of the world, if we’re already in HUGE debt and falling apart?
Is humanity just THAT stupid, ?
Oh and also what’s with all this stupidity “America RUNS on dunkin?” lol I mean if there’s anything we need less of it’s the crazed, caffeine hyper society we have created.
Americans push themselves way too much, and then wonder why they fall apart eventually.
We’re human, …not superman. Get it?

Answer by Samhain Kitteh. Unfortunately, people aren’t conscious of their mortality at all times. There’s an argument in my family between my mother and sister. My mom won’t talk to her, because she decided to move to Washington (She is 25 and in the US Army). She won’t call her. She didn’t talk to her at all, so my sister didn’t come here for the holidays. All she does is complain about how horrible Stacey’s boyfriend is, and all of this crap. She’s calling her a whore every time I turn around. It’s such a stupid argument. I’ve tried to tell them to shut up and stop, because it’s not worth it, but nobody will listen to me. I really just hope that nothing happens to either of them, because it would just tear us up even more. I have a feeling something is going to happen if they don’t knock it off though.
Trust me, you don’t realize how much my state runs on Dunkin Donuts. There are a TON in Massachusetts. I mean thousands. They have them a block apart from each other, across the street from each other, I mean EVERYWHERE.
What do you think? Answer below!

Question by trooper: Why do people exgagerate?
I have a boyfriend who loves to exgagerate, especially about things concerning my daughter or how messy the house is. He’ll exgagerate to his friends about a lot too. What is it with that? He never believe anything I say. Like this past week I told him I had a touch of the flu and did not feel good, but he still insisted on me helping him with chores, bathing a dog and sex! It seems he either doesn’t believe me or just doesn’t care how I feel!!
Best answer:
Answer by curious I have a friend like that who loves to exaggerate and blow things out of proportion. Unfortunately this is some kind of disorder according to me. I have told her to her face so many times that she’s lying, and despite that she won’t change. I say talk to your b/f and tell him that he’s being insensitive towards your feelings. If he’s still being unreasonable, then threaten to leave him!!

Question by Love my Anthony’s: Sick people around your baby?
My son was born 6 weeks early so from the start we have been advised to keep visitors to a minimum. He is now 3 months old & since it’s flu season our pediatrician has again advised this especially with sick people (which should be obvious.) Everyone is always giving me a hard time about wanting to see the baby & my MIL fights with me over the fact and she wants all these people she knows to see him. Now my mom is giving me a hard time. Her dog was sick the past week so I asked her not to come over because I have a dog & I simply cannot handle a sick puppy & an infant right now! I should add that she doesn’t leave the house without her dog so that was absolutely not an option for her! So today she was going to come over to see the baby but she is telling me her throat hurts and sounds extremely congested. I told her I don’t think it’s a good idea and she told me she “thinks” it is her allergies but she’s taking antibiotics. Then she proceeds to pull a guilt trip on me & tells me “I guess I’ll never see the baby then…”
Am I in the wrong here? I understand I can’t stop my son from getting sick but why would I risk it by knowingly exposing him to sick individuals?
Of course his grandmothers have seen him! They both normally see him atleast 2-3 times a week but when someone is sick I simply don’t want them around my child. I agree it would be completely unreasonable for me to have kept him from everyone for this long. I allow minimal visitors & I do take him for walks & to stores but inside stores I keep the rain cover over his bassinet. As of right now, I keep the visitors down to his grandmothers & his godmother until my pediatrician gives me the okay. I appreciate all the input! =]

Answer by Riley’s Mummy, born 12.09.09 You are completely in the right, and I would be exactly the same way. If people can’t understand that coming over when they are sick is very selfish, then it really their issue not yours. Just keep being upfront and telling them not to come, they will eventually get the hint. You are his mummy and you know whats best for him.

Question by SiMpLy.HaPpiE: Do asthma people have dogs?
Just wondering because my boyfriend thinks that his congestion, sniffles, and headaches are from his pet’s hair. I’m telling him that it’s not. I told him that the reason he might be feeling this way is because it’s the Flu Season.
Hopefully its not the dog.

Answer by Floopy If he’s really concerned, it’s worth going to an allergist and getting tested.

Answer by Heather-Tim haha no xD the virus making him sick is made to make dogs sick. the virus would have to mutate so that it would be able to infect human cells

Question by Barracuda: Is it time for people to start questioning the media’s artificially made hysteria over swine flu?
Looking at various news sites, including Yahoo, Huffington Post and even my local news, it’s time for someone to bring the hammer down on this swine flu hysteria. It’s wrong. It’s sensationalist. It’s no different from yelling “Fire” in a movie theater. Do the math and the numbers. Swine flu is not that big of a deal.
What’s worse is, the media is now PUSHING this story. They are bringing experts on shows. They are devoting most of their air time to it. Huffington Post is acting like it’s the end of the world. So-called experts and doctors who are probably being compensated in some way are going on and saying what the news wants them to say.
This is almost like that movie “Wag the Dog.” They’re crying to scare people and profit from it, when they know, or should know, mathematically, it’s not a big deal.
Are you disgusted? Are you happy most of these organizations are suffering financially now?
Talk about unethical and unscrupulous.
Best answer:
Answer by n b 24 hour rolling news does this.
it can also whip up political hysteria!
however, one could argue that news shows and papers only show what people want to see, which is why they watch or buy.

Question by MAD DOG: Do you think that people are overreacting from the swine flu epidemic?
Right now the Pandemic Alert level is at 5 (one step away from a full-blown pandemic.) More people die from the regular flu than the swine flu. I just think that they are overreacting. What do you think?
Thank you for your opinions and God Bless!

~Crazy Right Now~ and Copestir – Thank you! Last night, I was flipping through the Spanish channels, and there was a commercial on the Swine Flu and the guy sounded serious (you even got the serious music background!) I was like..”ok..” Plus, I’m getting sick and tired of hearing about the Swine Flu everyday. It’s like we get it.
Muff – Yeah! Now I can shake hands with people with confidence now!
Mr. Goodkat – That could be it as well.
Best answer:
Answer by Mr. Goodkat I think the fact that there is no vaccine is what has people worried.
