My dog was excited at the vets–lots of adrenaline pumping. He got a kennel cough vaccine in his rear leg. When we got home we went for a walk and then I left him tied in the yard for ten minutes. When I came back to get him, he was curled into a ball shaking and he would not step on his leg. He is obviously not himself–he won’t even chase the cat.

Answer by birdgirl Kennel cough vaccines are a liquid that is squirted into the nose..never heard of it being given in leg! Are you sure this was not a rabies vaccine which are sometimes given in the muscle in the thigh area? Call the vet and make sure exactly WHAT your dog was given and tell him/her the symptons as this may be a reaction to the vaccine.

So everyone is worried from side effects. The CDC states that the difference between the seasonal flu and the H11N vaccine is simply the virus. Yes it contains mercury but not in the dangerous free floating form, and guess what, all those other vaccines you got had mercury in them too. If your concerned about contracting GBS, you can contract it from the flu naturally after any illness.
They contemplate that you have a 1 in 1,000 chance of DYING from the H1N1 if you contract the virus.
They contemplate that you have a 1 in 100,000 chance of a COMPLICATION of the H1N1 vaccine.
Do the math and tell me which you would rather have. Its not even flu season and this thing is spreading incredibly fast. If those are the statistics from dying of H1N1, here are some other statistics to compare them to.

They are the source for most of the lies about the vaccine. They seem to be attempting to turn public opinion against all vaccination by implying this one isn’t safe.

Question by littletown_mom: H1N1 and Vaccine after being exposed?
I am 24 weeks pregant and have been exposed to H1N1 by a co-worker who missed two days ill and showed up to work totally sick as a dog. We made her go home after she said they confirmed her to have a H1N1 influenza and the doctor advised her to remain home for 7+ days. She said she can’t afford to miss that many days. Well I can’t afford to get swine flu being pregnant and all. If you would have seen how sick she was it was terrifying. She was totally on the brink of pneumonia. I also work with customers all day and handle money. I have a 5 year old who has asthma, and a 15 month old (healthy girl). I have never gotten flu shots and was totally against getting h1n1 vaccine and I am skeptical of all government aided tactics. However now that I have been exposed I am more skeptical of the flu than the vaccine. I am starting to think a little mercury can’t hurt too much. We are of a fishing family and eat fish weekly probably being exposed to higher levels continuously. Kids at my son’s school and even my son one month ago have all had symptoms similar, and a few students have confirmed cases of h1n1. School attendance has been crazy here. I am vaccinating my whole family now and want to know if others feel the same.

It sounds like you have many reasons to get the vaccine:
*pregnancy
*asthmatic 5 year old
*child under two
*you work in a public setting
*high incidence of illness in your community
The vaccine is safe and effective. I have given several hundred doses during the past three weeks, and the worst complaint has been temporary sore arm (local reaction) for which people are advised to take Tylenol. I and my family have had the vaccine.

Question by Shauna C: Problems with accidently pricking self with dog vaccine?
My mother bought the 5 in 1 vaccine for our dogs, it contains the vaccine distemper, parvo,canine influenza and 2 others, however when she was administering the injection into the dog, the dog jerked and she pricked her skin with the needle. She is incredibly hard headed and thinks its no bog deal. But where she pricked herself its red and swollen. What issues can come from this? Is it dangerous? Anyone know or heard of this before?
